{"id":515,"date":"2023-03-02T07:22:58","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T07:22:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.webystrata.co.uk\/?p=515"},"modified":"2023-03-02T07:22:58","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T07:22:58","slug":"wordpress-edit-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.webystrata.co.uk\/blog\/wordpress-edit-users\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress &#8211; Edit Users"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this chapter, we will study how to\u00a0<strong>Edit Users<\/strong>\u00a0in WordPress.<\/p>\n<p>Following are the simple steps to Edit Users in WordPress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step (1)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Click on\u00a0<strong>Users \u2192 All Users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.webystrata.co.uk\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/297_edit.png\" alt=\"WordPress Edit Users\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1136\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step (2)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 You will see a list of users.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.webystrata.co.uk\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/298_edit-1.png\" alt=\"WordPress Edit Users\" width=\"1000\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are two more tabs seen on the toolbar \u2212<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li><strong>Administrator<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 List of administrators will be displayed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Subscriber<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 List of subscribers will be displayed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When we click on the\u00a0<em>Change role to<\/em>\u00a0box, a dropdown list appears as seen in the preceding screenshot.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li><strong>Subscriber<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 A person who can only manage his profile.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contributor<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 A person who can write and supervise own posts, but cannot publish them.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Author<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 A person who can publish and manage his own posts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Editor<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 A person who can publish and manage posts, including the posts of other users.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Administrator<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 A person who has access to all the administration features within a single website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Click on the check box of the\u00a0<strong>user name<\/strong>\u00a0to change the role of the user. Then, click on\u00a0<strong>change<\/strong>\u00a0button and the user&#8217;s role will be changed accordingly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step (3)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Click on\u00a0<strong>Edit<\/strong>\u00a0option as shown in the following screen to edit the user.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.webystrata.co.uk\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/299_edit-2.png\" alt=\"WordPress Edit Users\" width=\"1000\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step (4)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 The\u00a0<strong>Edit User<\/strong>\u00a0page is displayed.
